We miss him a lot and always remember his companionship and cuddles. We adopted him in Los Angeles California from Best Friends and he even lived in Lima Peru for a year and a half.
Driving around that Sunday, I settled on Helman Elementary School. I had done an acrylic plein air from there before a couple of years ago on an overcast day which was not ideal.
I easily lost 5 lbs on the trip. I was running on adrenaline I think. I did not over consume coffee. I tried to go on shear will and determination. As far as mental health and neurodiversity- I’m trying some homeopathic alternatives like Brillia and now L-Tyrosine which are actually helping a lot; less irritated, impulsive and calmer. I wish I had come upon these options in the past. Out with the old and in with the new- a new future.
Huascaran is a mountain that people go to see and climb and you can find thousands of photos online. But you won’t find too many paintings of it probably. Not sure why, but maybe it is just so huge it might seem overwhelming and impossible to paint.
It wasn’t until I reached a point in 2006, in Huaraz Peru, where I wanted to create simple ink mandala drawings and have a consistent reproducible logo-signature-design that I could add the year to also.

It was a great time to test out my Nikon D850. It only takes nice pictures when you learn how to take nice pictures with it.
